Overview
The town of Palo Alto has a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 80% below 1990 levels by 2030. I set out to utilize advanced user research, design thinking, and systems change methodologies to find avenues for advancing this goal.

User Interviews
We centered ethnographic user research in our process by conducting 10 interviews across varying demographics
Interview Insights
Interviews uncovered several surprises spanning city government, safety, and resident self-awareness
Through our interviews, we decided to dive deeper into civic engagement as a critical path to addressing the needs identified during interviews
Problem Statement
Palo Alto residents do not feel like there are clear and effective avenues to communicate their vision to affect change on sustainable/safe transportation
